Water Flower Pots

Overview
All plants need water for sustained growth, and it's no different for container gardens. Potted flower plants often require more frequent watering than their counterparts grown directly in the ground, as potted soil is usually exposed to greater heat and wind movement, which increases the soil drying process. Provide your flower pots with the proper watering they need to keep your flowers growing lush and beautiful on the garden stone .
Step 1
Apply enough irrigation to the pot's surface until water comes out of the pot's bottom drainage holes, recommends West Virginia University.
Step 2
Wait to water again until the top inch of potting soil feels dry to the touch. This will sufficiently hydrate most potted flower species without overwatering. Some specialty species, like azaleas, prefer to be kept moist at all times. If your plant exhibits signs of drought stress, you need to water more often. Symptoms typically include the wilting or curling of the plant's foliage or a change in plant growth like a sudden stop in blossomion.
Step 3
Spread mulch across the flower pot soil surface to help conserve moisture and keep the dirt more consistently moist. Soil moisture can be further conserved by arranging pots in areas that aren't exposed to wind, or grouping pots together so the collective foliage of the flower plants help shield the potting soil from the sun.
